NORTHERN STYLE NEWSWATCH 5
We would take our thoughts forward into December 2000 and the forthcoming
meeting of the EU heads of government to be held in Nice. Over studied though the
question of Europe may be, it has remained so for a great many years, and will in the immediate
future remain the predominant focal point of concern for many Christians. Although God
dwells outside of time and space, He has placed His people within boundaries, as the
apostle Paul said:
"The God who made the world and everything in it . . . . determined the
times set for
them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that
men would
seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him. " (Acts
17:26-27 in part)
With this understanding it cannot be a coincidence that the `Nice Meeting'
is set for a date at the end of a momentous year for the United Kingdom. The year which was
intended to be one long Millennium party turned into one long string of national
humiliations, a humbling of a nation which, as yet, refuses to face what has happened!
Little more needs to be said on the Dome - the ongoing reporting in the media says it all!
We could list a catalogue of woes, and no doubt the readers of this Newswatch could add
their own! The tragic crash of Concorde; the carving up and disposal of the remainder of
the car industry; the continuing BSE crisis, followed by Swine Fever; confusion over the
election of the Mayor of London; the Royal Navy nuclear submarine fleet being laid up;
confusion over education and healthcare; the terrible rail crash which revealed a
crumbling rail system; the country narrowly averting an economic close-down, with the Fuel Protest revealing an impotent government; the terrible flooding and gales that affected all
parts of our island. Need we go on? Others can complete the list, for who can doubt that the
righteous judgement of God is being revealed.
However, we are not intending to launch into a `woes and lamentations' session - that we can safely leave to others! Our purpose in setting out some of the events of the past year is to consider the `Nice Meeting' - which may well turn out to be the most momentous event of a momentous year - and to consider its implications for the Body of Christ in this country in `the times and exact place where we should live'. Those of you who patiently read our comments in the Newswatch (whilst not necessarily always agreeing with us) understand that there is a progression of thought set out in them, based on considered historical precedents which we set against, or sieve through, Scripture, in order to avoid writing opinionated personal thinking, seeking instead God's warnings to His beloved people for the days ahead. Readers therefore know that in our comments we are not concerned with party politics within the secular or the religious scene. What, then, makes this `Nice Meeting' in December 2000 such an important landmark? This we need to carefully consider.
We have written and spoken consistently that the United Kingdom is being led unflinchingly
into Europe by politicians of all flavours. The so-called Euro sceptics only differ with others
on the form that this onward move takes, for the words which the politicians of all parties
use are carefully honed to ensure that they take the population with them on the journey back
into Europe. The `Nice Meeting' will determine the timetable for this to happen! New
Labour has been allowed to come to power in the UK for this purpose, for Old Conservatism
and Old Labour did not have the political will to undertake such a move. (There is no point
in mentioning the other political parties.) A Third Way was needed, and by its very doctrine
of Enlightened Humanism the path of the present party in power has to lead to Europe as a
means of spreading the `gospel of Man's achievement' to an enlarged Europe in its effort
to become its dominant power. The doctrine of Socialism does not allow for a nation state
with confined borders, which, it believes, has been the cause of so many wars and
oppressions throughout the world's long march in history. A very potent force was brought
into the nation state of the United Kingdom when it elected the Third Way, and the `Nice
Meeting' is primarily concerned with the overthrow of nation states - or in political
language, the `pooling of sovereignty' - and the surrender of state power in the interests
of the emerging European Super-Power State (which is, we suggest, a contradiction in
terms).
The key to open this process, which will be at the heart of the `Nice
Meeting', will be the
removal of the power of veto from individual nation states to make possible
the ongoing race
for complete harmonisation of economic, social and foreign policies of the
members of the
European Union. This is in line with what Daniel `saw' as the ten kings
that compose the
`Fourth Beast': (Daniel 7:19)
". . . . which was different from all the others and most terrifying,
with its iron teeth
and bronze claws - the beast that crushed and devoured its victims
and trampled underfoot whatever was left. "
The present ruling political party of the United Kingdom is caught in a
dilemma: By insisting on keeping its right to veto, in order to keep control of its
power-base in the UK,
whilst it seeks to take the country into a fully integrated Europe, it will
almost certainly force
into being a two-tier or multi-track Europe headed by a German/Franco Axis,
which is so
feared for it will render the veto powerless - for the emergence of that
Axis, and those who
are drawn into it, will leave behind those who would not enter into
`enhanced co-operation'
(to use the official term). We repeat, agreeing to the removal of the veto
will draw the UK
into the very heart of Europe, which will eventually destroy the nation
state! But opposing
the removal of the veto will leave the UK marginalised and subservient to
the German/Franco Axis - which is the powerful engine that drives the European
Union. It is
for this reason we state that the `Nice Meeting' is the momentous
culmination of a
momentous year in the disintegration of the nation state of the United
Kingdom! The `key'
was the last UK election and the letting in of the Third Way into British
politics, which had
no alternative but to be placed into the `lock of Europe' - for that was
the reason for its
existence. If it does not succeed in its ambition to be in `the heart of
Europe', it will lose
the purpose for its existence and leave the UK political scene as quickly as
it came - leaving
this nation state in a backwater!
To those who have followed our `developing thinking' over the years, but
may well be
confused by what we have written here, we would point out the key phrase
that will reassure.
We have mentioned a Third Way that was let in, brought in by a democratic
vote in the last
election, which has been the `key' to lead the UK into full integration in
Europe. This
corresponds to the alien spirit which was let into the Church by equally
popular acclaim
under the title of `the Toronto Blessing'. The United Kingdom and the
Church in England
are now set on a course into Europe, and into a battle that will bring about
the demise of the
nation state and the demise of the Church in England (as we know it). In
one of the studies
in our developing thinking we used and expounded the words of Jeremiah,
where he spoke
to the nation of Israel when it was facing the destructive forces of
Babylon, and the people
sought refuge in Egypt. We entitled it `Oh, remnant of Israel . . do not
go to Egypt', for
the LORD wanted the whole nation of His people to go into exile for His
purpose to be
revealed at His set time.
Within this context there is therefore no confusion in our `developing
thinking', rather there
is a deepening conviction of a coming `battle for democracy' which will
change the
Church from the form we have become used to into what the Lord of the
Church wants it
to be - a virgin Bride ready for His coming! In the Church there are
ministries of a
`prophetic nature' which, in becoming alarmed at the state of the Church,
are in danger of
turning into what we would call `Christian Imperialists' - in other
words, linking the
Church in England to a British Imperial Power. This Imperial Power was seen
at its height
at the end of the narrow timescale of the previous two hundred years of
history, and was
`layered into' the traditions, developments and enhancements that occurred
during those
centuries. However, if we stop to consider this more carefully, it is not
monarchical
tradition that is the thread which runs through British history, but the
monarchy itself. (This
is too lengthy a subject to set out in a Newswatch, and for those who may
find some of the
following comments difficult to understand we have set them out in a series
of study booklets
which have been written over the period of our `developing thinking'. We
list them at the
end of this Newswatch and, as usual, they are available free of charge if
you would like to
request them by E-mail or by telephone).
The monarchical thread which has formed these `Pretanic Isles' into its
present-day form
comes through two intertwined lines, both European (as we understand that
term today).
Both lines stem from two dominant Frankish tribes: The first, the
Merovingian line, sprang
from Clovis, who began the formation of what today we call France. The
second, the
Carolingian line, the usurping dynasty, sprang from Charles Martel (the
father of
Charlemange) through whom was formed what eventually became modern-day
Germany.
The rivalry and the eventual break-up of these two great dynastic powers
caused the
continuous battles which have been fought over Middle Europe. The Normans
later swarmed
over Britain from France and established the Plantagenet dynasty, which
quickly
overwhelmed the political life of Britain. The short-lived Tudor line was
legitimized by this
`Merovingian' Plantagenet line through Owen Tudor's marriage to Catherine
de Valois, the
Dowager Queen of England and widow of the Plantagenet King, Henry 5th.
Similarly the
Stuart line was also legitimized by the merging, through the marriage of
James 4th of
Scotland (whose dynastic line sprang from the Heredity Steward of the
Scottish Royal Court)
with Margaret Tudor, the daughter of Henry 7th, whose union produced through
James 5th
of Scotland's marriage to Mary of Guise Mary Stuart, the daughter of a
French Queen and
widow of a French King. The usurping line of the Carolingian dynasty came
into Britain
through the Hanoverian line (through an earlier marriage between Elizabeth,
daughter of
James 1st of England and Frederick 5th, Elector Palatine) which rose to its
peak under
Princess Victoria Marie von Teck-Wurtten Borg, who took the title and name
of Queen
Victoria. She married into an equally dominant Carolingian family of George
Frederick
Ernest Albert of Sachsen und Gotha , who was known as Prince Albert - the
Royal family
name finally being changed to Windsor. It is also worth noting that in this
struggle between
these two Frankish tribal dynastic houses, George 4th of the House of
Hanover had as one
of his titles `King of France'!
Our parliamentary system has now finally developed into that of the Monarch
reigning
through Parliament, a representative democracy which has increasingly become
(through the
newly elected `Third Way' political party) not Presidential but Kingly -
to the extent that
the Prime Minister is rarely seen in Parliament, instead, conducting Cabinet
business as a
`fait accompli' and working through his own Office with the power of
Patronage equal to
any earlier monarchical system this country has seen! We therefore now have
in place the
`King' in Parliament, ready to continue the power struggle in Europe from
his regional base
in the British Isles. Those who understand and agree with the Scriptural
revelation that there
are powerful spiritual beings working through powerful earthly kings and
authorities will
have no difficulty in seeing the Scriptural principle outworking in the
powerful political
forces that are now at work, which will join battle at the forthcoming
`Nice Meeting'.
It is this `kingly line', directed by a strong spiritual `king', whom
we see turning his eyes
once again to the real and ongoing battles between the two dominant Frankish
Houses who
seek supremacy in Europe, which we shall see outworking in the `Nice
Meeting' in
December 2000. The nation state, as we in the UK understand it, is but a
200 year modern
convenience to establish power-bases for opposing dynastic Houses in their
ongoing battle
for supremacy in Europe - into which this country is being drawn by all
political parties,
but needing a Third Way to be elected in order to bring it about. `English
history' as taught
in our educational system, is but the imposition of spiritual powers working
through `English
kings' who have imposed their authority on the British Isles, and history
read through
spiritual `eyes' that have not been drawn into the trap of `Christian
Imperialism' will
reveal that this is exactly how these islands have been seen over the past
one thousand years
of history. `Christian Imperialism' is but a modern-day version of the
fusing of earthly
culture and history with spiritual truths. Over the past one thousand years
of history the
combined power of state and religion has similarly imposed its will upon the
people of these
islands, and under the direction of the spiritual powers it has waited
patiently for such a time
as the `Nice Meeting'. We have set this out in this Newswatch so that we
may be aware
of what is unfolding in our time, through powerful secular and religious
forces directed by
far more powerful spiritual forces. The Fourth Beast of Daniel 7 has to
emerge, and it
has to emerge in Europe!
This, then, is the reality of the `anxiety factor' that we so constantly
speak of, which has
manifested in the people of these `Pretanic Isles', for it is an anxiety
emanating from this
`English Spirit' - which has imposed itself upon these islands for one
thousand years and
is aware that its battle lies once again in Europe where it was once a
vassal subject of the
Frankish `king' who sought dominance over the whole of Europe. Its
anxiety lies in the
possibility of it losing its power-base in the Frankish region of the
British Isles as it makes
its play for supremacy in Europe. Not entering that battle will leave the
people of these isles
in the vice-like grip of a despotic spirit whose ambitions will have been
thwarted by a
superior spiritual power. The key to this was the inviting in, the election
of, by popular
vote, of the Third Way! It opened up the way for the `English Spirit' to
once again take
the people of these Isles into Europe. Equally, the inviting in of the
`Toronto Spirit' into
the Church will draw it into a final battle for spiritual supremacy as real
as the natural one
being played out in Europe.
History will record, that just as the battles, seen particularly in the
Plantagenet's wars in
France, led to the loss of its estates in Europe, so this `English Spirit'
will be broken in
this battle in Europe. So, too, will the `Toronto Spirit' be broken in
the Church, and the
people of these Isles, who have lain under the imposition of a powerful
Frankish monarchical
power for a thousand years, will be free the hear the Good News of salvation
in Jesus Christ
from a chastened, purged Church, who also for a thousand years has been in
the grip of a
spiritual `monarchical power' through its embrace of secular power in
order to secure its
spiritual hold. As they say in our circles:
"Selah . . pause and (joyfully) consider these things"
