CREDO
` God shall enlarge Japheth and He shall dwell in the tents of Shem'

As would be expected, the Christian news outlets have their own conspiritorial sensationalists which equal and even surpass their secular rivals, and it was the arrival through the post of one such publication that caused this extension of a previous Newswatch to be written. As we have written earlier, the nations of the world have entered a period of great change in the way in which they are governed which will increasingly manifest in the immediate future. Because of the incredible advance in Information Technology within such a short space of time, bringing instant news from distant places, there will be increasingly a sense of despair among the people which could well lead to indifference over matters which people cannot influence or change. Such a time came a few short years ago through the intense conflict in some African countries which led to genocide, `famines and plagues'. This gave rise to the expression `Compassion Fatigue' - a switching off of the emotions when uncontrolable situations involving millions of people were involved.

In limiting this Credo to the `western nations' we are not embracing Compassion Fatigue but are entering into the principle of the title verse from the Book of Genesis `God shall enlarge Japheth'. It concerns the prophetic word spoken `when Noah woke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him', and in verse 26 of chapter 9 Noah said:

" Blessed be the LORD, the God of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant. God shall enlarge Japheth and he shall live in the tents of Shem, and Canaan shall be his servant. "

A great change in the world of Noah's time had indeed occurred, and from the following verses we can see the continual change that would take place and spoken of in the Book of Beginnings. It is generally accepted by those who accept the Bible as God's final, and therefore sealed, revelation, that in chapter 10 the nations that would come through the descendants of Noah's sons are revealed, as well as the rise and fall of nations in distant periods of time, leading to the enlargement of the nations springing from the line of Japheth, within which the nations of the West would find themselves. From the words spoken by Noah we can also see that those of the line of Japheth would `dwell in the tents of Shem', from whose loins would come the Semite nations - and in particular the nation of Israel. We can also see from these words that those nations coming out of Japheth would be aware of and have acceptance of the God of Israel through `dwelling in the tent of Shem'!

From these opening verses from the Book of Genesis we can catch a sense of the enormity of the change that had taken place in Noah's time, which would have continuous repercussions throughout the following generations of people. We see in these verses the much-denigrated and, dare we say, demonized Nimrod, the builder of Babylon and Nineveh and other places, seen throughout Scripture as symbols of man's pride and decadence but finally brought low as recorded in the final chapters of the Book of Revelation. We therefore consider it Scriptural to be watching for changes emanating from the western nations which will effect the whole world - those nations coming from the loins of Jaheth whose ideologies have become the dominant driving force and influence over the whole world.

The western influence has been seen particularly in the changing systems of state government over the past five centuries - upon which we have briefly commented in Newswatch 32. We have now arrived at a point in time in which another significant change is manifesting itself. These changes invariably follow an historical pattern, which can so easily be forgotten in our fast modern-day living but which are often picked up by what we have called Christian conspiritorial sensationalists. This leads to wild and extreme exegesis of current affairs by drawing upon the debris of the past dramatic changes which litter our cultural background. In such writings we will ususally find talk of the Illuminati, linking it with Freemasonry and with lurid examples of these group's involvement in the founding of America and their ongoing determination to bring in a New World Order - seen in the design of the American Great Seal, the wording on their currency bills and the symbolic layout of its political capital, Washington DC, and the imposing `Statue of Liberty', the light bearer of a New World Order. Whilst we are not decrying the historical truth of such remarks, we would suggest that they are based on the cultural debris of past historical changes, and although we need to be aware of such things, to attempt to use them to justify an International Conspiracy group is to take our eyes off our primary calling, which is to proclaim the Good News, the Gospel of our Kingdom which has no end.

However, it is worth our while to briefly look at something of the origins of certain of our `cultural debris' of historical changes in order to place them in perspective. Like all social, political change they begin with small movements of unease and unrest, and if they are of significant unrest they will lead to rebellion and to civil war, culminating in international wars out of which will come a peace imposed by the victors. Such movements over long periods of time form and shape the governmental order which will prevail until the next unease and unrest occurs, but within these later years will be the cultural debris which was used within the past cultures to galvanize and propel that next movement forward to its climax. Freemasonry was one of the groups that worked within the unrest of those times, and seen in its `purest form' it was intended to bring together men of integrity and goodwill to maintain a standard in a disintegrating world. The very times in which it was placed demanded a great degree of secrecy, whilst the culture of those times, with its background of Judaic/Greco intellectualism, inevitably led to lurid ceremonies and symbolism. But as it was also essentially a Humanist movement - man's endeavour to bring about through their own efforts a perfect kingdom of peace and righteousness - there would be a fusing together of the secular and the sacred, the all-seeing eye of Oris, the Compass, the Square, the Great Architect. As we have said on many occasions, the intellectual, religious culture of the West is Judaic/Greco not Judaic/Christian (the two words are themselves incompatible) and this is clearly seen in the cultural debris of Freemasonry, a developed form of Gnosticism - the gods are in heaven and are acknowledged but man will perfect the world through his own efforts. During the enormous state changes that took place - the French Revolution, the Napoleonic Wars, the break-up of the First British Empire, through the American Revolution - these secret societies were undoubtably infiltrated by revolutionaries seeing their time had come, and the secret nature of their work would effectively help their purpose to change state systems and bring in a New World Order.

The history of Freemasonry has to be set within these historical times and not used to sensationlize the times in which we now see dramatic changes taking place. Within Freemasonry - much of which was merely the well-intentioned efforts of man to live a godly life without God - was placed a highly dangerous series of Lodges under the umbrella of Grand Orient Masonry, which was totally revolutionary and commited to the overthrow of the existing state systems. Such groups could well emerge again, but today the much-maligned Brotherhood of Freemasons are, at their `best', a social club for men, and at their worst a gathering of those who would improve their social and personal standing. They are - at this junction of the political and social change taking place - cultural debris as much as are the Castles, Stately Homes, Norman Churches and Cathedrals that litter the English countryside. With that said, no disciples of the Lord Jesus should have any involvement with such activities - if we do indeed belong to another Kingdom that will last without change for eternity!

We have often said amongst ourselves that we have `lived through the best years' - that is, in the natural sense, through a period of peace and prosperity never seen before in the western nations. There have been unlimited opportunities for even the mildly ambitious through education and business leading to financial independence; health and a prolonged life-span with financial provision for leisurely retirement; and in the spiritual sense, for those who live in the Kingdom of God, an enormous sense of worship and praise to a merciful God as He renewed and restored His people. If we have indeed lived through the best years, in order to appreciate this we need to look again at the cultural debris that we are left with to see the times which gave rise to it - and once again it must center on `the tribes springing from the loins of Japheth'. As `these present times' are held in place and maintained principally by the natural wealth, the military power and the political influence of America, it is to their cultural past we must look, for it too has endured times of great turmoil and change although, as to be expected, the details of these changes are often glossed over in a glow of self-satisfaction of what we enjoy now.

There is much talk in American folk-lore of the `Founding Fathers', which could, to different people, refer to the original Puritan settlements or to the time of the American Revolution in 1776. Although both movements were in response to persecution and repression it is to the latter movement that we must look to find men - the Founding Fathers of what has become today's America - who were far removed in their political thinking from today's politics. Their background was one of revolutionary Europe spanning several decades - a Europe thoroughly saturated in religious culture and ruled over by despotic monarchical systems which were struggling with coming to terms with democratic Parliamentary forms of government. Against this background must be placed the Illuminati and the revolutionary Grand Orient Masonry, in which most if not all of the Founding Fathers were involved. Determination to break free from such tyranny led to the American Revolution (or as it is known in America, the War of Independence). However, it would be many years later, and through much bloodshed and hatred poisoning the lives of divided families, before we can begin to identify what we would now call America. Indeed one of those Founding Fathers, James Madison, writing in one of his `Papers', is recorded as saying that the uniqueness of American Government `be in the total exclusion of the people in their collective capacity from any share' in the government. Those founding Fathers' minds were moulded by the concept of a State Nation free from the tyranny of Church and King, but still beneath the authority of the State. The Revolution of 1776 would in time lead to the Civil War, which started in order to preserve the Union, and it is said that it emerged four years later as a Nation, and so we begin to see the emerging concept of a Nation State - to use part of Abraham Lincoln's address, ` . . a government of the people by the people' enshrined by law in a Constitution.

Ironically, however, it was not the `American dream' that was the forerunner of the European Nation State which sprang from the understanding that the energies of the State must be directed to the welfare and provision of protection of the people - if the State was to be able to motivate the people towards war in order to protect their new-found wealth and prosperity! It began through von Bismark (the Prussian Prime Minister of Kaiser Wilheim) who introduced Europe's first welfare and social security systems in his work of forging the nation of Germany. He was later followed by Adolf Hitler! Both men saw the need to provide for the total welfare of their people - if they were to work through them in order to obtain their own objective. It could therefore be rightly said that Germany spawned the Nation State in what we understand today as the State system of government. It was the requirement to mobilize the entire country in order to secure the nation's interest that brought into being the Nation State - that which we have described as living through the `best years'. It was that same principle - the harnessing of the people and the wealth of the north to bring about the United States of America, with the rights and welfare of the people enshrined in a Constitution safeguarded by law - which brought about the end of the American Civil War. The continuation of the Nation State must therefore provide the same principles which we unfortunately now see fracturing in this country and in the rest of Europe - but that is to go ahead of what we are seeking to establish.

We now need to bring into our narrative an American President named Woodrow Wilson, a God-fearing academic who saw beyond the limited confines of the land of America, wanting to bring the freedom which was enshrined in the American Constitution to all peoples of the world - a New World Order! The opportunity to bring his vision into reality came through America's involvement with Europe through what is known as the First World War. Regardless of our comment that von Bismark's vision was the forerunner of the Nation State, we also need to understand that the American and today's European understanding of that expression are not the same, and the clash between `Old and New Europe' is still with us on today's political stage. The American understanding is based upon the limited sovereignty of the State whereas the European understanding is based upon the ultimate total authority of the State, yet both underpinned by the harnessing of the State to the wellbeing, provision and protection of their people. Within the American concept we see it outworked as the paramount right of the people to govern themselves, yet personal rights give way to the State where State activities impinge upon the individual, with the State giving way to the Federal authority where its activities impinge upon the State authority. Finally all are subject to the Senate who are appointed by the people and enshrined in the Constitution which is enforced by law. The American State has therefore limited sovereignty for it is always bound by the Constitution enforced by law.

On the other hand the European State system has no such lawful curtailing of its authority, other than the popular vote at various times. The results of such elections are then channelled into the victorious political party machine, which has little political or lawful restraint upon it, until the next election - which, provided that the government's activities are directed towards its people's prosperity and protection, are subject only to Parliament, which has little power and is largely a debating society! The uniqueness of the American political system, which so motivated such visionaries as Woodrow Wilson, is therefore its Constitution bound by law but subject to the people. At the time of the emergence of the Nation State as a European system of government there were three dominant idealogues: Democracy, with its various forms of `Parliament; Facisism, with its total harnessing of the people to the State; and Communism, which sought to provide for the well-being of the people through direct State control. (We have recently heard this two latter ideologies described as National Socialism and Soviet Socialism.) But it was the American ideology that proved to be victorious and it has provided wealth and prosperity which the west has `enjoyed' over those past decades.

The `Wilson Doctrine' (as it is known) led to America coming out of its isolation and entering the world stage, and through its natural and economic wealth it became the `motor engine' of the developing Nation States. The ill-fated League of Nations was the first embodiment of America's Constitution upheld by law and the vast amounts of wealth which poured into a war-devastated Europe funded the Nation State concept, providing for the rebuilding of a shattered society - a new World Order was in the making! It was inevitable that it would lead to a clash between New and Old Europe - one a State system with limited sovereignty and the other with absolute authority. The Wilsonian vision was for a collection or grouping of individual nations with a Republican system for the people by the people. The wars that have been fought in the cockpit of Europe have been fought over which ideology would be paramount, and the `battle' (albeit more of a death rattle of defeated ideologies) can be seen in our everyday news reports. The United Nations, which was to have been the high point of the `Wilson Doctrine', is firmly in the camp of the `Absolute Sovereignty' advocates and has led to the American unilateralist move in its recent war with Iraq. `Old Europe' is once again in the ascendancy! This was seen clearly when America, with all its wealth and military and political power, had to ask the United Nations (which it had recently spurned) for a new Resolution to provide support for its activities in Iraq. A `sea change' has occurred, and will eventually lead to the withdrawal of America from its Wilsonian Vision of Republican Nations States spread across the world under the authority of a United Nations Organization upheld by International Law and enforced by its member States. This is the heartfelt cry of today's President of America, echoing the words of his father in his desire to establish a New World Order based on the Wilson Doctrine of free Republican Nation States - for the people by the people. But it is fast becoming a hollow almost anguished cry as Old Europe increasingly emerges! In the natural sense, we have truly had `the best years' as far as physical prosperity and protection goes!

In drawing these thoughts to a conclusion we may well have arrived at a similar point as that from which the Christian Conspiritorial Sensationalists speak! But because of their error of drawing together into one timescale Scriptural prophecies which will occur over different times the sensationalism so often becomes dispersed and ignored as a `new' theory is announced - and we have briefly sought to provide an historical background for what has developed, yet with Scriptural support in order to gain understanding of what we need to `watch and pray' for. There is little point in digging up the `cultural debris' - the secret societies, the outrageous and slightly comical titles and the symbolism that all come from a culture saturated in religious thought and practice which is no longer evident in today's society. Neither is there the need to sensationalize the symbolism of the design of the new European Headquarters by linking it to the Tower of Babel, or even the deliberate use of the Rape of Europe statue. Such things are the tools which politicians use in seeking to harness the people's imagination, their meanings lost by the average person and, once used, largely ignored by the politicians. To focus on such matters is to lose sight of the change that is emerging in the west - the demise of the Nation State as we have known it, based upon the Wilson Doctrine. Once this is quietly considered it will become evident that such a `Wilsonian' doctrine is something quite unique in the State systems that have been outworked in the nations springing `from the loin of Japheth' over the last five hundred years. Old Europe is therefore re-emerging, with all the consequences that will follow on from that understanding of Absolute State Sovereignty, harnessing the will of the people to its success in the provision and protection of those within its boundaries.

Within that form of society there is no place for `separated people', whether they are Jew or Christian! A nation is established by the grouping of the dominant national groups of people who hold to common cultural principles upheld by a Constitution guarded by Law as directed by the elite of that dominant group of people. It may well be a multi-ethical grouping of dominant people, such as is seen in the American State system, but once it breaks down into multi-cultural groupings - as is happening in this country and indeed throughout Europe - it will lead to a further breaking down into sexual groups demanding rights; ethnic groups demanding their `rights' based on colour or creed, not on merit; educational privileges demanded on the basis of poverty rather than on educational standards, and a host of other such demands. This breaks down the cultural principles of the dominant group of people that formed the basis of what is seen to be a Nation, and it leads to a breakdown in society - which leads us back to the beginning of this Credo. The breakdown of a nation leads to `someone' seizing the opportunity offered and appealing to the people . . which leads to revolution . . which provokes civil war . . which leads to wars against other nations, upon which is forged a National Ethos . . which leads to a New World Order. Such are the times that face us!

With that we need to turn back to our opening Scripture and `the mighty warrior on the face of the earth', Nimrod. Nimrod sprang from the loins of Ham, a people of the First World Order. He may well have been the builder of the mighty cities of Nineveh and Babylon. Nineveh is no more and Babylon has no future, other than its total destruction and all that is implied regarding man's dreams of an empire built upon his efforts which will last for ever. As the `separated' people of God we do indeed need to be aware of the times in which we live so that as we `watch and pray' we also seek every opportunity to proclaim the everlasting Gospel of God and not become over-excited at the use and practice of `cultural debris'. In Scripture there is a blessing ` for those who long for His appearing', as well as an exhortation, a charge to: (2 Timothy 4:2-3)

" Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage - with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. "
